DON'T COUNT YOUR CHICKENS .. the priZe of 'success'

Updated: Oct 6, 2023

There was an extra-ordinary headline yesterday ; the opinion polls showing the incumbent chief minister ahead in the opinion polls, ahead of his rival in the race.

The funny part was that the incumbent chief minister is himself dependent on his rival's political party for support, literally handing on a rope actually held by his rival.

In my case where just before my start up earning the first rupee, my marketing agency was busy hiking up his price based on hypothetical success in the future.

Can there be anything more hilarious than the above cases of counting chickens before they hatch ? Or is it a case of cutting open the hen which laid golden eggs?

'The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry' is a saying adopted from a poem called 'To a mouse' by the poet Robert Burns and that too way back in 1785.

Nothing has changed much to disprove its truth; Isn't the current epidemic of stress and high blood pressure, the results of failing to deal with uncertainty?

A story called 'Who moved my cheese?' in 1998 by Spencer Johnson talked of how to anticipate, adapt to and enjoy change and be ready to change quickly.

THE SECOND OPINION recognizes uncertainty as a constant and shows you how to deal with times of great change, advancement, developments & diversity.
