You can't ask your team the question that scares you most.
“Are we about to run out of road?”
“Is my co-founder still the right person for this stage?”
“Have we built a business, or just a busy job for 80 people?”
Ask those out loud internally and you risk panic, politics, or a resignation by Friday.
So most leaders carry them silently. For months.

An outside advisor isn't smarter than you. They're just unconflicted. No equity anxiety, no career to protect, no reason to tell you what you want to hear.
That's the entire point of a board you can actually use.
